Since we live in a modern world and are surrounded by modern devices like computers, digital information, software, and electronic communication tools, we cannot ignore them or avoid using them in our daily lives. On the other hand, our lives are influenced and depend on them. We involve them in many parts of our activities. Unfortunately, most of us are not prepared well to be able to use them so we feel less confident in using it. Some of us are even still incapable of using it. This leads to an awareness of the importance of learning information technology so that we can use it in our lives.
The term information technology had been introduced in 1958. The term is derived from the word information and the word technology. The term can be defined as the transferring of any information, knowledge, or data that involve any kind of visual format and any type of multimedia mechanism. It is not only limited in the process or the data construction. It includes computer software, computer hardware, information system, and programming language. It serves people with data management system, database and software designs, and other administration system.
